The Meeting of South
Cave Parish Council took place in the Town Hall, 42 Market Place, South Cave
commencing at 7:00pm

(i)The use
of agricultural land for corn production was brought to Council’s attention.
(ii)It is a
requirement that items for recycling need to be collected into plastic bags,
and then placed in the blue bins. The question then arises, if everyone is
using reusable bags, there will be a lack of plastic bags to collect recycling
in.
(iii)The new
fencing along Church Street had been the subject of positive feedback
(iv)It was
reported that the surface of Turks Trod footpath is uneven.
(v)The poor
state of the verges on Station Road were brought to Council’s attention.

(i)SPC
Waudby presented the crime figures to 17th December, there being nine crimes: three thefts
from motor vehicles, one damage to vehicle, one burglary dwelling, one theft,
one making off without paying, one attempted

Waudby emphasised the need for keeping valuables out of sight. The Council
requested figures regarding the number of tickets issued for parking on zigzags
and double yellow lines in the village. SPC Waudby was also made aware of
concerns regarding unauthorised use of land by motor bikes.
(ii) The Council noted a report from Cllr Kelly regarding the Police &
Partners Community Forum for South Hunsley & Dale Wards held on 15th
November 2007.

(i)The
Council considered nominations for the ERYC Chairman’s Awards for enhancing the
East Riding of Yorkshire. The Clerk is to forward nominations in respect
of the well-being category and the
environment category, proposed Cllr Mann, seconded Cllr Mrs Barnett, vote: 8 in
favour 1 against.

(i)Councillors
considered the report regarding holding Parish Council Surgeries, with Cllr
Wright proposing that to improve access to the Council a report should be
presented to Council regarding the updating of the website, and that e-mail
addresses should be included on the contact information in the Parish Council
newsletter, seconded Cllr Lenton, All in favour.
(ii)No further information in addition to the quotations received regarding the beck and drainage clearance, this matter is on the agenda for the Finance & General Purposes Committee.
(iii)The
Council discussed the formation and support of a South Cave Youth Council, with
Cllr Wright proposing that further information be obtained from other
successful Councils that have Youth Councils and a report submitted to Council
at a later date, seconded Cllr Harrison, All in favour.

(i)To
increase the knowledge base of the Council, Cllr Mrs Manley proposed that the
Clerk attend the SLCC Practitioners Conference on 29th February
2008/1st March 2008 at a cost of £190.00, with associated travel
expenses, seconded Cllr Kelly, All in favour.

(i)It was suggested that further
information be obtained regarding the weight limit envelope, prior to
submission for the Area Forum for discussion.

– Cert Of Lawful Development
Erection of new healthcare block within the existing perimeter fence of the prison following demolition of existing at HM Prison, Beck Road, South Cave for HM Principal Secretary of State for the Home Office. Cllr Lenton proposed that the Parish Council would comment that there is no evidence to suggest the application is unlawful, seconded Cllr Turner, All in favour.
(ii)DC/07/06915/STPLF/STRAT
– Full Planning Permission
Erection of a building for use as changing facilities, construction of football pitches with associated vehicular access and parking (re-submission of 06/09142/stfpl) at Bull Field, Church Street, South Cave for South Cave Social & Recreation committee. Cllr Harrison proposed that the Parish Council would support the application for improved facilities, as per the previous submission, seconded Cllr Wright, All in favour.

– Full Planning Permission
Erection of single storey extension and wall to side and alterations to existing outbuildings at 60 Beverley Road, South Cave for Mr and Mrs Bogg. Cllr Wright proposed that the Parish Council raise no objection, as it has no adverse effect on the property, the enjoyment of neighbouring properties, or the street scene, seconded Cllr Lenton, All in favour.

trees at 55 Water Lane, South Cave
