Meeting of South Cave Parish Council took place in the Town Hall, 42 Market
Place, South Cave commencing at 7:00pm

Public Forum
(i)Salt bins for Wesley Close and the Sports Centre access road are to be
discussed by the Planning & Technical Services Committee
(ii)The roof tiles on the lychgate are to be discussed by the Open Spaces
Committee
(iii)The regular flooding of Church Street at the school is to be put
before the Planning & Technical Services Committee
(iv)The street name plate for Barnards Drive is to be put before the
Planning & Technical Services Committee
(v)The parking of buses on Willow Flats destroying the verge is to be
discussed.
(vi) It was reported that the tennis court fencing had been damaged by
tobogganing
(vii)It was suggested that the car park edge be curbed at the tennis
courts
(viii)Several other street name signs were brought to Councils
attention.
(ix)Nuisance problems are being experienced by residents from off-road
motor cyclists on an adjacent field.

2680209 Approval of Previous Meetings Minutes
Cllr Scott proposed that the minutes of the meeting of 19th
January 2009 be approved and entered into records, as a true and accurate
record, seconded Cllr Kelly, vote: 8 in favour 2 abstentions.

(i)There were no
police in attendance to give a report. The Council
received the response from Inspector Thirkettle re level of police cover, and
as it was felt that the question initially put to Inspector Thirkettle had not
been answered again, a further letter is to be sent, also that Inspector
Thirkettle be invited to give a presentation at the Annual Parish Meeting, proposed Cllr Turner, seconded Cllr Harrison,

Scott proposed that these items be paid on the grounds of sound financial
management of the Council, seconded Cllr Kelly, All in favour.
(ii)Councillors noted receipt of the
Insurance renewal documentation (April 2009)
(iii)To
resolve that the Council in accordance with its power under S137 & 139 of
the Local Government Act 1972 should incur the following expenditure which, in
the opinion of the Council, is in the interests of the area, or its inhabitants
and will benefit them in a manner commensurate with the expenditure:
(a)donation of £200 to the South
Cave Village Show (former British Legion Show) Cllr Turner proposed that a
cheque for £250 be sent, seconded Cllr Lenton, nine in favour.

receipt of the Alcohol Misuse for Adults Review Panel Report

14th January 2009

noted receipt of the minutes of the meeting held by the South Cave In Bloom
Association held on 14th January 2009

a letter from Rural Services Network
2740209 Administration
(i)The Council confirmed arrangements for the Open Event to be held on 17th
February 2009 at the Family Centre at 6pm
(ii)The Council noted the imminent publication of the South Cave Heritage
Trail and the local history exhibition to be held on 11th April 2009
at the Farmers Market, with Cllr Barnett proposing to approve the printing
costs for both the booklet (£915) and the map (£206), with additional costs for
folding, seconded Cllr M Turner, All in favour.
2750209 Annual Parish Meeting
(i)It was agreed that the Annual Parish Meeting should
take place on 23rd April at the WI Hall. Inspector Thirkettle is to
be invited, and possibly a representative from the Air Ambulance and /or First
Responders. Cllrs L Turner and Barnett are to organise refreshments.
2760209 ERNLLCA/SLCC
(i)Councillors considered attendance at the ERNLLCA training on advanced
Chairmanship, with Cllrs L Turner, Manley, Scott and Kelly attending. On the grounds
of improving the knowledge base of the Council, Cllr Harrison proposed, Cllr
Manley seconded, All in favour.
(ii)Councillors considered attendance at the SLCC training event
regarding the power of well-being, with Cllrs M Turner and Kelly attending, proposed
Cllr Scott, seconded Cllr Jamieson, All in favour.
2770209 Trees
(i)App No. 6304 prune trees at 55 Water Lane for Mr
and Mrs Craven Cllr Lenton proposed that refusal be recommended, as there were
considerable concerns for the safety of the trees, and that the TPO was sought
for the protection of the tree stock in this area, seconded Cllr Harrison, All
in favour.

next Parish Council Meeting will be Monday 16th March 2009
