The Meeting of South Cave Parish
Council took place in the WI Hall, Church
Street, South Cave commencing at 7:00pm
Present: Cllrs Barnett (Vice-Chair), Manley, M Turner, L Turner, Marsh and Kelly

Forum
(i)A resident who frequently lights Bonfires during the day along Beverley Road is
causing complaints from residents down Highfields.
(ii)It was mentioned that cars without blue badges are parking in the new disabled
parking bay outside the Bank in Market Place.
(iii)As the Town Hall refurbishments have now moved into the foyer area, it was
suggested that for safety reasons, the post is collected from the Post Office.
(iv)Suggestions to find extra parking in Market Place were discussed.
Cllr Marsh gave his apologies and left the meeting.

3610909 Ward Councillors Reports (For Information
Only)
Ward Cllr Galbraith
reported that:
(i)ERYC have won a grant for affordable
housing for 300 new homes. There are
none
planned
for Dale Ward.
(ii)The Flooding scheme for South Cave
has been passed to the Department for
Environment for consideration. Answers should be available in October and a
decision made on who will be funding the
scheme.
(iii)New Dog Control Orders will come
into effect on 1st October 2009.
(iv)A new Social Care for the elderly
‘transformation’ scheme is being tried in Hessle
and Goole.
Ward Cllr Smith reported that:
(i)There is to be an Anti Social Behavior
review.
Ward Cllr Hudson reported that:
(i)As yet she has had no response
regarding Ferry Road Beck and is to liaise with the
Environment Agency again.

Police Matters
(i)The Police reported that since July they have received 48 calls. There have been 26
crimes committed in the area, 3 vehicle crimes, 2 damage to vehicles, 2 burglary
dwellings (1 distraction), 6 burglary others (sheds, garages, work premises), 1 assault,
5 general thefts, 1 fraud and forgery, 1 arson, 1 criminal damage, 1 vehicle related
crime, 3 harassments and 1 drugs crime.
(ii)PCSO Alison Pearson asked if the parking along Church Street could be mentioned.
They had requested a larger sign regarding the parking regulations on the yellow
line, but ERYC have said that they do not have one. The matter is to be discussed by
the Parish Council at a later date.

(i)The Council received and where necessary, adopted the resolutions from within the

Cllr Barnett proposed that the minutes from
the committee meetings be adopted in the
interests of sound management of the Council,

(i)The Council noted the minutes of the South Cave In Bloom Association meeting,
12th August 2009.
(ii)The Council noted the minutes of the Haltemprice and Hunsley Local Action
Team meeting, 26th August 2009.
(iii)The Council noted the minutes of the East Yorkshire Town Councils meeting, 21st
May 2009.
(iv)The Council noted correspondence received from ERYC re Sure Start Children’s
Centres.
(v)The Council noted letters of thanks received from South Cave Playgroup.
(vi)The Council noted ERYC LAT Haltemprice and Hunsley Household Survey
2008.
(vii)The Council noted the East Riding Voluntary Action Services Ltd AGM is on
9th October 2009.
(viii)The Council noted a letter received from ERYC re Planning Permissions at
Mount Airey Farm Airfield.
(ix)The Council noted a letter received from ERYC re the Yellow Lines in Market
Place and that a response will follow in due course.
(x)The Council noted a letter received from Hogarth (Construction) Ltd. The Clerk is
to send a reply requesting that the plaque be displayed in the Town Hall after
refurbishment.

(i)The Council postponed discussions for the attendance at ERYC Community Led
Parish Planning DVD launch, as the event has now been cancelled until the New Year.
(ii)The Council considered re-appraisal of the South Cave Conservation Area report
and the Clerk is to write to ERYC and request that they attend a Council Meeting to
discuss their decisions.
(iii)The Council discussed Christmas 2009.
The Clerk is to arrange.

(i)The Council noted the ERNLLCA Newsletter for August 2009.
(ii)The Council approved attendance by the Clerk at the SLCC one day course ‘Paper
Chase – The Guide to Managing Paper’ on 23rd November 2009. Proposed Cllr Kelly,
